KVG-8S Electric Gripper — 8mm Stroke, 0.1s Cycle, 30x24mm

The KVG-8S is an ultra-compact two-finger parallel electric gripper built for high-speed pick-and-place in confined spaces. With a 30 × 24 mm footprint and 0.1 s one-way stroke — the fastest in our range — it handles short-stroke tasks where cycle time is critical. It delivers 8 mm stroke, 8–20 N knob-adjustable gripping force and ±0.02 mm repeatability. The controller is built into the body, so there is no external cabinet and no compressed air supply required.

Key Features of the KVG-8S Electric Gripper

0.1 s One-Way Stroke — Fastest in Range

Full open-to-close in just 0.1 s. On high-cycle pick-and-place lines, this directly translates into higher throughput.

Knob-Adjustable Gripping Force

Gripping force continuously adjustable from 8 to 20 N via the built-in adjustment knob — no software, no hardware change. Switch from delicate to firm parts in seconds.

Smallest Footprint — 30 × 24 mm

The most compact gripper in our line-up. Fits dense workcells, small collaborative robots and fixtures that larger grippers cannot enter.

Lightweight at 0.25 kg

Minimal added mass on the wrist — preserves your robot's payload capacity and allows faster acceleration without oversizing the arm.

Built-In Controller

Drive and controller integrated in the gripper body. No external cabinet, no extra cost, minimal wiring.

No Compressed Air Required

Fully electric — replaces compressor, filter, solenoid valve and pneumatic gripper. Ideal for labs, hospitals and clean environments.

Applications

  • High-Speed Pick & Place — 0.1 s cycle time for short-stroke transfer of small parts.
  • Electronics & 3C Assembly — Handling connectors, chips and small components in dense layouts.
  • Tight-Space Automation — 30 × 24 mm body reaches where standard grippers cannot.
  • Small Collaborative Robots — 0.25 kg preserves payload on lightweight arms.
  • Laboratory Automation — Gripping test tubes and sample trays without compressed air.

Robot Compatibility

Digital I/O interface — integrates with most collaborative and industrial robot controllers, as well as PLC-based systems. Confirmed with Universal Robots, AUBO and Elite Robots.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the gripping force adjustable?

Yes. Force is continuously adjustable from 8 to 20 N using the built-in adjustment knob on the gripper body — no software or wiring change needed.

Is the stroke adjustable?

No. The KVG-8S has a fixed 8 mm total stroke (4 mm per jaw). If you need a longer stroke, see our KVG-20S Ultra (20 mm) or KVG-20 (20 mm adjustable).

What is the difference between KVG-8S and KVG-20S Ultra?

Both share the same 24 mm width, 93.9 mm height, 8–20 N force range and ±0.02 mm repeatability. The KVG-8S is shorter (30 mm vs 43 mm body length), lighter (0.25 kg vs 0.35 kg) and faster (0.1 s vs 0.15 s), with a fixed 8 mm stroke and continuous knob adjustment. The KVG-20S Ultra offers a longer 20 mm stroke with 4-level force adjustment. Choose KVG-8S for maximum speed and smallest size; choose KVG-20S Ultra for longer stroke.

Does it require compressed air?

No. It is fully electric — no compressor, filter or solenoid valve needed.

Is the controller included?

Yes, the drive controller is built into the gripper. No extra charge.

What is the IP rating?

IP40 — suitable for standard industrial and laboratory environments. Not intended for washdown or outdoor use.
