KVD-Hand6 Dexterous Robotic Hand — 6 DOF, 5 kg Payload, CAN FD

The KVD-Hand6 is a 6-DOF dexterous robotic hand that reproduces human grasping, pinching, holding and pushing motions. Its four fingers bend through 60° + 110° + 170° and the thumb swings 70° laterally, while three thumb joints (32° + 44° + 44°) deliver human-like dexterity. It completes complex gestures in 1.1 seconds, delivers up to 10 N gripping force and lifts payloads up to 5 kg. CAN FD communication is standard, with an optional 5-channel tactile sensor for 3–10 N dynamic force control.

Key Features of the KVD-Hand6 Dexterous Robotic Hand

6 Degrees of Freedom

Four fingers bend through 60° + 110° + 170° with a 70° thumb lateral swing — enough articulation to wrap around objects of widely different shapes.

Human-Like Thumb Articulation

Three thumb joints move through 32° + 44° + 44°, faithfully reproducing the human thumb's role in grasping, pinching and holding.

1.1 s Gesture Cycle

Completes complex hand gestures in 1.1 seconds — fast enough for real-time interaction without sacrificing stability.

10 N Grip, 5 kg Lift

Maximum gripping force of 10 N with a lifting payload capacity up to 5 kg — handles real workpieces, not just demonstrations.

Optional Tactile Sensing

An optional 5-channel tactile feedback sensor builds full-hand perception and enables dynamic force control from 3 to 10 N — grip fragile items without crushing them.

CAN FD Communication

Industry-standard CAN FD interface for fast, reliable multi-joint control and straightforward integration with robot controllers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is tactile sensing included?

Tactile sensing is optional. The hand can be equipped with a 5-channel tactile feedback sensor that enables dynamic force control from 3 to 10 N.

How many degrees of freedom does it have?

6 DOF — four fingers with 60° + 110° + 170° bending and a thumb with 70° lateral swing across three joints (32° + 44° + 44°).

What is the maximum payload?

The KVD-Hand6 lifts up to 5 kg and delivers maximum gripping force of 10 N.

How fast is it?

It completes complex gestures in 1.1 seconds, balancing speed with stability.

What communication protocol does it use?

CAN FD, a high-speed industrial standard suitable for multi-joint real-time control.

Is it suitable for humanoid robots?

Yes. Its human-like proportions, 6-DOF articulation and 5 kg payload make it well suited to humanoid and mobile manipulation platforms.
